The practice has been involved in training GP registrars as part of the Northumbria Vocational Training Scheme for several years.
Several nurses do a range of things including cervical smears, baby and travel immunisations, blood pressure checks, blood tests, and giving advice about areas like diet, family planning, asthma and diabetes.
The health visitors work in the community particularly with children and pregnant women, and are also at the baby clinic. You can contact them through reception.
Reception, administrative and other staff:
The practice also has receptionists and administrative staff, led by a Practice Manager.
Other professionals sometimes work in the practice. These include a midwife, a physiotherapist, a dietician, a chiropodist and primary care mental health workers.
Medical and nursing students:
Medical and nursing students often visit the practice. We think it is important to help train future doctors and nurses, and they will learn from meeting you. You will be told about them in advance, and we will understand if you prefer them not to be present in your consultation
We also have a range of other clinicians at the surgery these include:
Midwife, Dietician, Physiotherapist, Practice Pharmacist, INR Technician, Counselling Services and District Nurses.
