Self Referral

Most referrals to other specialists will require you seeing or speaking with a GP. However, there are a number of local services, listed below, that you are able to make self referrals to.

Children and Young People’s Service – Newcastle and Gateshead, Benton House

The Children and Young People’s Service provides a single service to all children and young people aged 0-18 years living in Newcastle and Gateshead who present with mental health difficulties. This includes children and young people who may be living in difficult and challenging circumstances.

Mental Health Matters

You don’t need a formal diagnosis to attend a drop-in session with Pathways. If you are aged 18 or over and struggle with your mental health in any way, Pathways can signpost you to other services, help you manage your benefits, and provide a wide range of support regarding your mental health. Drop-in sessions take place on Monday between 10am-2pm (no appointment necessary).

Gateshead Clubhouse aims to provide a service where people with mental health needs can access a range of facilities within a supportive and safe environment. This is where recovery and self-growth can be encouraged through the sharing of skills and abilities of all our members, with further encouragement and help from other associates. NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme

The Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP) identifies those at diabetes high risk and refers them onto a behaviour change programme.
